For the extension of the Blaue Funken, one of Cologne’s oldest carnival associations, a facade was created that tells a very special story. The perforated aluminum panels depict the historic city map of Cologne – a meaningful detail for a traditional association deeply connected to the city and its history.
Finished with a gold powder coating and realized using the POHL Europanel system, the facade not only creates an architectural highlight on the exterior. Thanks to the perforation, it also fills the interior with bright, natural light, resulting in warm and welcoming spaces.
A project that shows how architecture can convey identity – and how a facade can become an expression of history, pride, and Cologne’s unique spirit.
